POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE  THERAPY

POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY

For the Love of Me Body Sculpting Studio offers pre- and post-op lymphatic drainage therapy for clients who have undergone Liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), Smart-Lipo, Cool Sculpting, Tummy Tucks, or any other cosmetic surgery procedure.

WHAT IS POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY?

Lymphatic drainage therapy encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues. Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up. Lymphatic drainage massages can benefit people with lymph-edema, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.

POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY WITH INFRARED LIGHT THERAPY

For the Love of Me Body Sculpting Studio offers Infrared Light Therapy with lymphatic drainage. Infrared light therapy is a treatment that help skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of the body heal. Infrared light therapy is another effective way to detoxify and strengthen the immune system by using infrared light. Infrared light is beneficial because of its ability to penetrate human tissue and helping to reduce inflammation and swelling, which is extremely beneficial to post-op clients.

WHY DO I NEED POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY AFTER MY COSMETIC SURGERY PROCEDURE?

After receiving a cosmetic surgery procedure, clients will notice a hardness or lumpiness to the areas treated with liposuction especially in the abdominal area and even more so if combined with other body contouring procedures (such as fat injections for what is popularly known as the Brazilian Butt Lift), which is normal right after a cosmetic procedure. This post-surgical lymph-edema is caused by inflammation and trauma from the cannula (instrument that sucks out the fat) moving under the skin. Channels are formed by the cannula that can fill up with fluid and the tissue also becomes swollen.

Manual Lymphatic Therapy help to move the fluid by gently pumping it back into the lymph vessels. Reducing the swelling can reduce discomfort. Without Lymphatic Therapy, the inflammation can evolve into fibrosis (a permanent hardening of the tissue) or a seroma (pocket of serum) can form. Many doctors prescribe Lymphatic Drainage Therapy after liposuction or other plastic surgery procedures to make sure their patients get the best possible results.

WHY IS POST OP/ LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY IMPORTANT?

A working lymphatic system is essential to the body’s ability to regenerate tissues, drain fluids, filter out foreign substances and toxins, detoxify, and maintain a healthy immune system. The lymphatic system is complex and made up mostly of nodes and lymph vessels working together to achieve these aims. The lymph itself carries fatty acids, hormone cells, immune cells, proteins, and toxins to be processed by the lymph nodes. When the body is under stress, fatigued, experiencing infections, fighting a disease process, or recovering from surgery, the process may be slowed down.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

It is ideal to receive at least one or two treatments prior to a procedure to jump start the flow of the lymphatic system. There are many different things that can influence healing. Clients who receive liposuction to the abdomen area often find that they require up to 12 sessions. Occasionally, a client will need more than 12, especially if they had other cosmetic procedures. Also, clients who get multiple procedures at the same time (liposuction and a tummy tuck, or liposuction and a buttock enhancement and/or Brazilian Butt Lift) may need more sessions than an individual who only had one procedure. Sessions may be paid for individually or in discounted packages.
